3D CG Artist
The 3D artist role requires focus on creating 3D models, texturing and level design. Having animation skills to conceptualise motions and abilities are pluses. This role is critical to bring the game characters and environments to realistic life.
Requirements include:
- Excellent in creating accurate and detailed models from reference images
- Ability to model, UV map, and create textures
- Concept Art
- Able to generate normal map and polybump
- Excellent 3D animation and rigging skills are pluses
- Excellent working knowledge of animation principles and thorough understanding of human motion mechanics are pluses
Pluses include: Drawing Skills and conceptual art, Modeling and texturing ability, Game experience, Acting and cinematography skills
Qualifications include:
- Proficiency in 3D Studio Max
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
- Must be able to have good drawing skills
Experience:
Senior roles must be skilled in people-management and have good leadership. The senior role requires organising team tasks and monitoring progress of each artist within specified schedules and the design of the game. Must have at least 2+ years experience as a Lead Artist. Junior roles include 2+years experience in the industry and fresh graduates who are interested in learning and exploring new ideas. Current roles in the architectural and interior design industry are encouraged to apply.

Programmer
The role requires focus on building game play and tools. Works cooperatively with artists and animators to prototype, implement, and polish the game play and develop user friendly tools.
Developing game play related functionality (controls, camera movement, game rules, etc) in C++ and Python or other scripting languages.
Implement game AI functionality using core engine AI features.
Must have good communication skills to work with artists and animators to co-develop tools.
Qualifications include:
- C/C++ experience required with good object-oriented programming skills.
- Experience with Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0, Algorithm, Code Optimisation, and Visual Studio
- Proficiency in Squirrel, Lua or Python a plus
- Background in Math, Physics or 3D Computer Graphics
- Bachelor of Science (Computer Science), Engineering, Math or Physics
Experience:
Senior roles must have at least 4+ years experience in the creation and delivery of state-of-the-art, performance- minded tools for game development. The applicant must have strong leadership and people-management skills as the role also includes leading and mentoring the programming team.
Junior roles include 2+ years experience and fresh graduates who are passionate in learning.

Web Developer
The web developer's main responsibility is to develop and maintain company and brand's websites.
Requirements include:
Developing client registration, user registration, login and reports and integration of portals with game server and database design.

Flash GUI Artist
The Flash artist’s main responsibilities include GUI and website designs for the game.
- Conceptualising, creating and implementing GUI fun functionality and aesthetics
- Creating game front end menu systems
- Designing websites for the company and product brands.
- High quality Flash animations

- Other 2D artwork and communication materials
- Working closely with Art and Programming teams
Qualifications and Experience include:
- Layout and Graphic design.
- Typographic design and layout.

- Colour theory application
- Simplification - Experience in simplifying complex workflows in menu systems.
- Formal user-interface design qualifications in related fields such as information design, graphic design or information science.
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Software knowledge includes primarily Flash (Actionscript a plus), Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects
- InDesign , 3D Max and Dreamweaver are pluses.

We like our interns here at Kea Studios. We appreciate their contribution here no matter what the tasks are; from making us coffee to making beautiful websites like this to working on our game projects.
We encourage undergraduates from all universities and colleges to apply with us for mainly the artist and multimedia roles. We don't look at your papers, rather your attitude and your motivation to learn and do great things!
Our interns come from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Michigan Technological University.
Internship Case Study
A student who is a Graphics Design and Multimedia undergraduate from UTAR (University of Tunku Abdul Rahman) did his internship training with Kea Studios for a duration of 5 months.
His responsibilities included designing 3D models and textures for the game environment. During this time, he improved greatly in his texturing skills, through learning development of normal and specular maps. He also learnt new tools such as Crazybump and Xnormal.
